College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Every account is verified with a @uwyo.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Cowboys and Cowgirls, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Most first-year Pokes land in North Hall or South Hall, the newest buildings on campus, or in McIntyre Hall; Honors College students have their own community in Tobin House, and returning students can move up to Upperclassman Hall at Orr. Anyone ready for a kitchen and a lease-style setup can apply to the UW apartments at Bison Run Village, Landmark Village, River Village, or Spanish Walk. Newly admitted first-year students and transfers with fewer than 24 post-high-school credits who are single, under 21, and not living with family in the Laramie area have to spend their first two terms in the residence halls, which means a big, predictable wave of people furnishing rooms every August. Everything you need is already on campus: UW students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come with a Twin XL bed that can be lofted or bunked, a desk and chair, a closet with drawers, a vanity with sink, and a waste bin, so Twin XL sheets and a mattress topper are perennial listings. North and South Halls include a built-in microfridge unit and residents there cannot bring their own fridge or microwave, while students in the other halls coordinate who brings what: fridges should be 3.5 cubic feet or smaller and under 900 watts, and microwaves must stay under 900 watts too. The legacy buildings are not air conditioned, and window AC units, space heaters, toasters, hot plates, Instant Pots, and cinderblock bed risers are all off the packing list. Command strips and nails are out as well, so putty and push pins are what people hunt for.
Meet up somewhere busy and central: the Wyoming Union, Coe Library, the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, the University Store, or a bench along Prexy's Pasture all work. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Fall 2026 move-in runs August 21-22 for first-time students arriving for Saddle Up and August 29 for returning and transfer students, and those windows are when the marketplace is busiest.
