Student Verification
Verification is what makes College Marketplace different from every other resale app. Here's how it works and why it matters.
Why we verify
Other marketplaces let anyone in. We don't. Every member proves they're a current college student before they can browse, post, or message. That keeps the community made up of real students from real schools — the people you actually want to buy from and sell to.
What we check
- A valid .edu email address from a supported school.
- A one-time verification code sent to that address, confirming the account belongs to you.
Your verified badge
Once you're verified, a "Verified Student" badge appears on your profile and listings so others know you're the real deal.
Your privacy
We use your school email only to confirm you're a student and to help keep the community safe. We don't sell your personal data. You can delete your account and your data at any time from Profile → Settings → Account.
Don't see your school?
We're adding new campuses regularly. If your school's .edu isn't supported yet, email us at support@mycollegemarketplace.com and let us know.
