College Marketplace is built for students to buy and sell safely within their campus community. To keep everyone safe, we have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior.
By using the Platform you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban.
Treat every member of the community with respect. We do not tolerate:
Content that is abusive or objectionable is strictly prohibited, including:
Do not list, sell, or promote any item that is illegal or unsafe, including:
Housing listings are covered by federal, state, and local fair housing laws.
You may not post a housing listing, statement, or advertisement that expresses a preference for, limitation on, or discrimination against anyone based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
This applies to how a listing is worded, not just its intent. Phrases describing a preferred type of roommate or tenant based on a protected characteristic are not allowed, even when written casually or with good intentions.
Discriminatory housing listings are removed, and accounts that post them may be suspended or banned.
If you list tickets:
We are not able to help if a ticket is invalidated, revoked, or refused at the door.
Protect yourself during every transaction:
Verification confirms a school email address, not a person's character. Treat every meetup as you would meeting any stranger.
If you feel unsafe or witness criminal activity, contact campus security or local law enforcement immediately.
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, use the Report button on a listing, seller, or message. You can also Block any user to immediately stop seeing their listings and messages.
We review every report and act on objectionable content and abusive users promptly, and in most cases within 24 hours. Users who violate these guidelines may have their content removed and their accounts suspended or banned.
Reporting is confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them.
Depending on the severity and history of a violation, we may:
Serious violations — including threats, harassment, fraud, sexual content, and discriminatory housing listings — may result in an immediate permanent ban with no warning.
If you believe your account was actioned in error, email support@mycollegemarketplace.com with your username and a brief explanation. We'll review it.
