College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. Every account is verified with a @mix.wvu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Mountaineers — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

WVU spreads twelve residence halls across three parts of the Morgantown campus, and first-year students are required to live in one of them. Downtown you'll find Boreman Hall, Dadisman Hall and Stalnaker Hall. Sunnyside has Honors Hall, Summit Hall and Seneca Hall, whose studio apartments come with two to four private bedrooms and a real kitchen. Out on Evansdale the towers — Bennett Tower, Braxton Tower, Brooke Tower and Lyon Tower — sit alongside Lincoln Hall and Oakland Hall. Beyond the halls, WVU also owns four apartment communities — College Park, University Park, University Place and Vandalia — an upper-class option open to everyone but first-year students, leased by the individual bedroom on their own contracts rather than billed with the residence halls. Wherever you land, everything you need is already on campus. WVU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms arrive furnished with a study desk and chair, a dresser, drapes, a desk lamp, a wastebasket and an extra-long twin bed, so buy XL twin sheets rather than standard twin: the mattresses run 36 by 80 inches. Air conditioning is the detail worth checking before you shop. Bennett, Braxton, Brooke and Lyon Towers, Honors, Lincoln, Oakland, Seneca, Stalnaker and Summit all have it, while Boreman North, Boreman South and Dadisman do not, which is why box fans move fast in August. Beds cannot be lofted or bunked at WVU, though plastic risers up to six inches are allowed. You can bring one refrigerator as long as it stays under 3.2 cubic feet and 10 amps, and standalone microwaves are prohibited, so most residents rent a MicroFridge combo unit or split one with a roommate.

Hand-offs are simple here. Meet inside the Mountainlair, on the steps of the Downtown Campus Library, out on Woodburn Circle, by the Student Recreation Center after a workout, or at Evansdale Crossing between classes: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
