Buying & selling at West Georgia
Campus details for West Georgia students.
College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. Every account is verified with a @my.westga.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Wolves — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
New students at UWG are housed in the first-year communities: Center Pointe Suites, The Oaks, University Suites, and Bowdon Hall, the traditional double-occupancy hall that also takes upperclass residents. Returning students can stay on in Center Pointe, The Oaks, or University Suites, or move over to the apartment-style Arbor View Apartments, where the units have full kitchens and living room furniture. Whichever building you land in, everything you need is already on campus. West Georgia students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, rugs, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come further along than most people expect, which changes what's actually worth buying. Every bed uses a 38" x 79" XL Twin mattress, so standard twin sheets won't fit. Each resident gets a desk and chair, plus a dresser and a wardrobe. Center Pointe Suites, The Oaks, and Bowdon Hall come with a micro-fridge and a microwave already installed, while University Suites and Arbor View have full-size refrigerators — which is exactly why personal refrigerators and microwaves sit on UWG's Wolf Packing Guide do-not-bring list. Beds are not bunkable in any hall and bed lofts are prohibited outright, so skip the loft kit and buy under-bed bins instead. Space heaters, halogen lamps, candles and incense, personal routers, and anything with an exposed heating element (toasters, hot plates, grills) are also off the list. Utilities and Xfinity internet are all-inclusive with no overages, and in-building laundry is free.
When it's time to hand something off, stay somewhere busy and lit. The Campus Center on West Georgia Drive is the obvious one, with University Recreation, the climbing wall, and constant foot traffic. Ingram Library works for books and small electronics, the University Community Center and West Commons Dining Hall are busy through the middle of the day, and UWG Outfitters just across the street is easy to find for anyone still learning campus. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Fall 2026 move-in runs August 7 and 8, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — that window and the spring move-out rush are when listings move fastest.

Help & FAQ
Common questions from West Georgia students.
Who can use College Marketplace at West Georgia?
Only students with a verified @westga.edu email address. Every listing you see was posted by another West Georgia student, and your listings are only visible to the West Georgia community.
Is it free to buy and sell at West Georgia?
Yes. Buying, selling, and messaging are completely free. The only optional cost is a featured listing boost, which puts your item at the top of the West Georgia feed for $2.99 for 7 days.
How do I pay the other student?
You arrange payment directly with each other — cash, Venmo, Zelle, whatever you both agree on. No money runs through the app, and there are no transaction fees.
Where should I meet to buy or sell on West Georgia's campus?
Stick to busy, well-lit public spots — the student union, the main library, the rec center, and the dining halls are all easy meeting points between classes. Agree on a specific building before you head over, and meet during daylight hours.
