Buying & selling at Wagner
Campus details for Wagner students.
College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. Every account is verified with a @wagner.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Seahawks — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Wagner's housing is compact, which makes buying and selling simple. Every incoming first-year lives in Harborview Hall, the hilltop building with big windows and New York City views, and upperclass students move on to Towers Hall, Guild Hall, or Foundation Hall. Towers houses roughly 450 upperclass students in doubles, singles, and two-bedroom suites; Guild is suite-style, with two double rooms sharing a private bathroom and a kitchen on the first floor; Foundation is suites and Seahawk Suites with furnished common living areas. With nearly everyone living inside those four buildings on one campus, everything you need is already a short walk away. Wagner students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come furnished with a Twin XL bed, a desk and chair, and a dresser or wardrobe depending on the hall, so shop for Twin XL sheets rather than standard twin. Beds in Harborview and Guild adjust to leave 24 to 31 inches of clearance underneath (Harborview lends out a rubber mallet at the RA office), and bed risers are permitted, which is why under-bed storage bins move fast. Air conditioning is the other thing to check before you buy: Harborview, Guild, and Foundation are air conditioned, Towers is not, and portable AC units are prohibited, so fans sell out in late August. Refrigerators have to stay under 4 cubic feet and microwaves under 700 watts, while air fryers, Instant Pots, toasters, hot plates, and space heaters aren't allowed at all. Harborview rooms have no overhead lighting, so a single-head, non-halogen lamp is close to mandatory.
When it's time to hand something off, stick to somewhere public and busy. Horrmann Library, the Wagner Union, the Wagner College Bookstore, and the lobby of the Spiro Sports Center all work well in daylight with people around — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Move-in week is the busiest stretch of the year: new students arrive Thursday, August 20, 2026, and returning students on Sunday, August 23, so list your extras before the lots fill up.
