Buying & selling at Villanova University

Campus details for Villanova students.

College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Every account is verified with a @villanova.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Wildcats — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Where Wildcats buy and sell

Villanova housing spans four distinct areas. Whether you're in a traditional hall on Main Campus — Sheehan or Sullivan on the Quad, or Alumni, Austin, Caughlin, Corr, Delurey, Fedigan, Good Counsel, McGuire, Moriarty, O'Dwyer, Simpson, Stanford, St. Katharine, St. Mary's, or St. Monica — in the West Campus apartments at Farley, Gallen, Jackson, Klekotka, Moulden, Rudolph, St. Clare, or Welsh, in The Commons at Canon, Dobbin, Friar, Hovnanian, McGuinn, or Trinity, or on the Cabrini Campus at Angelo, Francesca, Josephine, Lecceto, Nicholas, Thomas, or Xavier, everything you need is already close. Villanova students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.

Check the mattress before you buy bedding

Villanova isn't uniform on this. As of Fall 2025, St. Mary's, Sheehan and Sullivan have standard twin mattresses while every other residence hall uses extra-long twin (36" x 80" x 7"). If you're buying sheets, a mattress topper, or a fitted cover secondhand, ask which hall the seller lived in — it's the single most common mismatch. Worth knowing too that closets don't have doors in the residence halls, which is why tension rods and curtains move fast every August.

Meeting up on campus

Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. The Connelly Center is the hub of student life and the obvious default, with Falvey Library and the Davis Center close by. If one of you is on the Cabrini Campus, agree on a building on one campus rather than meeting in between — the shuttle makes one end easier than the middle. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off Craigslist.

Textbooks without the bookstore markup

Course materials for engineering, nursing, and the business school run into the hundreds of dollars a semester, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. Buying from the Wildcat who took the class last term beats the bookstore buyback spread on both ends — the seller gets more than the buyback price, and the buyer pays less than retail.
