Buying & selling at UNC Wilmington
Campus details for UNC Wilmington students.
College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Wilmington, North Carolina. Every account is verified with a @uncw.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Seahawks, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
First-year Seahawks land in the traditional halls, Belk Hall, Graham Hall, Hewlett Hall and Schwartz Hall, or in the newer communities: Cornerstone Hall, Keystone House, Innovation House, Pelican Hall, Sandpiper Hall, Terrapin Hall and Loggerhead Hall. Returning students move into University Suites, Terrapin Hall and Loggerhead Hall, or the campus apartments at Seahawk Crossing, Seahawk Landing and Seahawk Village. Whichever building you end up in, everything you need is already on campus. UNCW students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come furnished with a dresser, a desk and chair, a bed and mattress, and a wardrobe, so what's left is the stuff that makes the room livable. Beds are loftable on adjustable posts, which is why lofting kits, risers, and under-bed storage move fast in August. Mattresses are extra-long twin (36" x 80"), so grab Twin XL sheets and skip the standard twin set. Heat, air conditioning, electricity, internet and laundry are all built into the room rate, and cooking appliances, space heaters and pets other than fish are not allowed, so check UNCW's what-to-bring list before you buy someone's hot plate.
When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and central. The Fisher Student Center and Fisher University Union are the easiest landmarks on campus, and Randall Library, Wagoner Dining Hall and the Student Recreation Center all work just as well for a daytime swap. Everything happens in daylight, in a public spot, between two verified students: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
