Where Mavericks buy and sell
UTA's five residence halls sit close together on campus. Whether you're in Arlington Hall, KC Hall, Vandergriff Hall, West Hall, or the new Maverick Hall, everything you need is already a short walk away. Plenty of Mavericks commute in from across the Metroplex too, and they use it just the same. Mavericks post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, fans, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
Check the bed size before you buy sheets
UTA isn't uniform on this. Maverick Hall rooms have full-size beds — singles, doubles and private suites alike — while every other residence hall uses twin. If you're buying sheets, a mattress topper, or a fitted cover secondhand, ask which hall the seller lived in first. It's the single most common mismatch, and it's easy to check before you pay.
Meeting up on campus — and why it matters at a commuter school
A large share of UTA students drive in. Buying furniture off Facebook Marketplace across the Metroplex means a stranger and a long drive; buying from another Maverick means meeting at a building you're already parking near. The E.H. Hereford University Center, the Central Library, and the Maverick Activities Center are all places you're heading anyway. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no extra trip.
The weeks that matter most
For 2026–27, UTA's residence halls open August 12, 2026 and close December 10, 2026 for the fall term, reopening for spring in January. Those two ends are when the marketplace is busiest — students clearing out furniture, fridges, and storage all at once while new residents need all of it. If you're selling, post before the rush.

Stick to busy, well-lit public spots. Popular UTA handoff points are the E.H. Hereford University Center, the Central Library, and the Maverick Activities Center. If you commute, pick somewhere you are already parking rather than making a separate trip. Meet during daylight hours.
