College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas. Every account is verified with an @islander.tamucc.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Islanders, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Housing on the Island is refreshingly simple. Miramar and Momentum Village are the only two on-campus student housing communities TAMU-CC operates, and most first-year Islanders are required to live at Miramar for at least two semesters before they can move off. Miramar carries seven floor plans, from a private one-bedroom, one-bathroom residence hall space to shared one-bedroom apartments and two- and four-bedroom apartments. Momentum Village, over on Islander Way, adds three more layouts, including two-bedroom and four-bedroom apartments. Because almost everyone cycles through the same two properties, everything you need is already on campus. TAMU-CC students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Every unit at both communities comes furnished, with electricity, internet, water, sewer, and trash built into the rate, so the shopping list is short and oddly specific. Miramar spaces include a built-in desk with a chair, and the residence hall option gives you a private bedroom and private bathroom, but a micro-fridge is not included in the Miramar contract, which is exactly why used mini fridges and microwaves move fast here. Miramar units also come with no closet doors, so curtain rods, tension rods, garment racks, and fabric storage cubes are perennial listings. Momentum Village apartments arrive fuller: a full-size bed, dresser, nightstand, study desk and chair, living room furniture with an entertainment center and coffee table, a full kitchen with oven and range, microwave, and full-size refrigerator, plus a full-size washer and dryer in the unit. Worth remembering that Momentum beds are full size, not the twin XL most schools use, so buy sheets accordingly.

Meeting up is the easy part when you already share a campus. Hand things off at the University Center, out front of the Mary and Jeff Bell Library, or at the Hector P. Garcia Plaza, all busy, well-lit, and a few minutes from either community. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
