College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. Every account is verified with a @students.stonehill.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Skyhawks — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
First-year Skyhawks land in the traditional corridor-style halls. O'Hara Hall and Holy Cross Center house first-year students only, while Boland Hall, Corr Hall, and Villa Theresa Hall mix first-years with sophomores. Sophomores and juniors move into suite-style Notre Dame du Lac and Pilgrim Heights, or into the single-gender modular homes of O'Hara Village and Pilgrim Heights Village. Upperclass students take the townhouse-style Colonial Court and Commonwealth Court, or the six-, eight-, and ten-person suites in Bogan Hall, the newest residence hall on campus. Close to nine in ten Stonehill students live on campus and every resident carries a meal plan, so everything you need is already a walk away. Stonehill students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come furnished with a twin bed, dresser, wardrobe, desk, and chair. The mattresses measure 6'6" long, so extra-long twin sheets are what you actually want — a regular twin set is the classic move-in-day mistake. Beds can be lofted up to 34 inches off the ground or lowered instead, which is why risers and under-bed bins move so fast every August. Refrigerators are capped at 4.5 cubic feet, and microwaves are not permitted in student rooms, so don't pick one up secondhand expecting to keep it. Personal air conditioners are banned as well: central air is built into Bogan Hall, O'Hara Village, and Pilgrim Heights Village, while Corr Hall and Notre Dame du Lac have air cooling. Hot plates, toaster and broiler ovens, popcorn poppers, multi-cup coffee makers, halogen lamps, and candles all sit on the prohibited list, so check before you buy.
When it is time to hand something off, pick somewhere busy and well lit. Roche Dining Commons, the MacPháidín Library, the Duffy Academic Center, The Hill, and the Shields Science Center all work. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
