College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Every account is verified with a @stetson.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Hatters — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. This page covers the DeLand main campus, not the College of Law in Gulfport.

First-year Hatters land in the traditional halls: Smith Hall, Gordis Hall, Carson Hall and Hollis Hall, and Nemec Hall, with a smaller number placed in Conrad Hall, home to the Honors and Bonner programs. Returning students move into the suite-style buildings — Chaudoin Hall, Emily Hall, University Hall and Hatter Hall — or into Lynn Hall, the 305-bed hall that opened in January 2026 and houses residents of every class level. Students with 60 or more credit hours can pull an apartment: Stetson Cove Apartments, Stetson Oaks Apartments, Stetson Palms Apartments or University Village Apartments. Stetson has kept a three-year residency requirement for more than a decade, so most undergraduates are furnishing a campus room three years running, and everything you need is already on campus. Stetson students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished with a self-loftable XL twin bed, a dresser, a desk and desk chair, and built-in closet space with a shelf and hanging rod, so buy extra-long twin sheets instead of a standard twin set. Because the beds loft themselves, you don't rent a kit — you just need the bins, drawer carts and risers that fit underneath, which is why storage sells fastest in August. HVAC is bundled into the utility package along with electricity, water, sewer, trash, recycling and Wi-Fi, so a window air conditioner isn't something you'll need to shop for. Animal-friendly housing is limited to University Hall, Stetson Cove and the 300 building at University Village.

Hand things off somewhere busy and public: the Carlton Union Building, the duPont-Ball Library, the Hollis Center, the steps of Elizabeth Hall, or outside the Edmunds Center. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
