College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. Every account is verified with a @suumail.net email address, so you're only ever trading with other Thunderbirds — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

SUU keeps its on-campus lineup short and easy to learn. Cedar Hall is the traditional suite-style building, split into North and South, and it's the one option that comes with a required meal plan. Everything else is apartment living: the Eccles Living Learning Center, where a 1,500-square-foot unit holds six or seven residents across four or five bedrooms; Founders Hall, built around five-bedroom, five-bathroom apartments for ten; The Cottages and Hillside Apartments, both two people to a unit; and College Park, three private bedrooms per apartment out by the tennis courts and the football stadium. Because most of campus is apartments, a lot of T-Birds are furnishing a bedroom and a kitchen at the same time, and everything you need is already on campus. SUU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Beds in the apartment buildings are extra-long twins, so standard twin sheets are the classic first-week mistake here. Eccles bedrooms come with a desk, chair, dresser, and closet, and Eccles is air conditioned; the apartment buildings hand you a furnished living room and a full kitchen with the major appliances already installed, which is why cookware and small kitchen gear move fast. Cedar Hall suites are the exception — no built-in refrigerator, and Cedar Hall North and South close over winter break. Housing caps personal refrigerators at 2 cubic feet, and personal microwaves, electric heaters, personal air conditioners, and candles are all prohibited, so check the specs before you buy somebody's fridge. Utilities, internet, and common-area custodial service are included in the room fee, and personal routers aren't allowed either.

When it's time to hand something off, pick somewhere busy and lit: the Sharwan Smith Student Center, the Gerald R. Sherratt Library, outside T-Bird Eats Dining Hall around mealtime, the entrance to the America First Event Center, or the SUU Campus Store. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
