College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Every account is verified with a @jagmail.southalabama.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Jaguars — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

South spreads its residents across traditional halls and apartments, and the churn between them keeps the marketplace moving. First-year students land in Azalea Hall, Camellia Hall, or the two-story Epsilon halls, while Stokes Hall houses everyone from first-years through graduate students. Beta, Gamma, Delta 3, 4, & 5, and Delta 6 are open to all classifications and mix suite-style rooms with studio and two-bedroom apartments. Upperclass students move out to the apartment communities — Traditions at South and SouthPaw Village, which opens for Fall 2026. Every first-time, full-time student must live on campus their first academic year unless they qualify for an exemption, so everything you need is already on campus. South students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Check the bed size before you buy sheets, because South does not use just one. Azalea, Camellia, Stokes, Epsilon, and the studio apartments in Beta and Gamma all take Extra-Long Twin at 36" x 80"; the two-bedroom units in Beta and Gamma use Full beds at 53" x 74"; Traditions at South and SouthPaw Village use Full XL at 54" x 80". Rooms come with an adjustable-height bed frame, mattress, dresser, desk, desk chair, and a closet or wardrobe, and the traditional halls already include a compact refrigerator around 4.4 to 4.5 cubic feet, so check before buying someone's old one. Air conditioning is standard everywhere: room-controlled units in the traditional halls, centralized with an in-room thermostat in Beta and Gamma, apartment-controlled at Traditions and SouthPaw. Microwaves must be 800 watts or less. Lofted beds are prohibited unless rented through the University's approved vendor, so your ceiling is the 30 inches of clearance the adjustable frames give you — measure before buying under-bed bins. Space heaters, extension cords, candles, and hoverboards are all banned, and in-room WiFi means bringing your own router.

Keep handoffs public and busy. The Student Center is the natural meeting point, and Marx Library, the Student Recreation Center, The Fresh Food Company, and Delta Deli all work just as well in daylight with people around. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
