College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for San Diego State University in San Diego, California. Every account is verified with a @sdsu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Aztecs, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

SDSU runs a two-year residency requirement: non-local first-year students have to live on campus and carry a meal plan for both their first and second years, which keeps the campus resale market unusually busy. First-years land in Chapultepec, Huāxyacac, Maya, Olmeca, Tenochca, University Towers, Zura, South Campus Plaza, Sunset Plaza or Texcoco, the 323-suite community that opened for fall 2026. Second-years and upper-division students move into the sophomore and apartment communities: Tepeyac, Tacuba, Toltec, Zacatepec, Aztec Corner, Granada, Mixquic, Piedra del Sol, Villa Alvarado, Zapotec, Viva and M@College, most of them full-kitchen units. Wherever you land, everything you need is already on campus. SDSU students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, apartment kitchen gear, bikes and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Read the housing rules before you buy anything. Every first-year room is fully furnished and Housing already puts a microwave and mini-fridge in it, so personal refrigerators are actually prohibited here. First-year beds are twin XL; sophomore and upper-division bed sizes vary by building, and Aztec Corner puts full beds in double-occupancy rooms and twin XL in triples, so wait for your early-July building assignment before buying sheets. Air conditioning is standard across the communities. Lofting is not a free-for-all either: SDSU publishes a bed height guide listing which buildings have adjustable beds, Chapultepec, Huāxyacac, Maya, Olmeca, Zura, Tenochca, South Campus Plaza, Sunset Plaza, Tepeyac, Tacuba, Villa Alvarado and Viva among them, and which ones cannot be raised at all, including University Towers, Texcoco, Toltec, Zacatepec and Aztec Corner. Under-bed clearance runs from 7 to 24 inches depending on the building, so measure before you buy storage bins. Extension cords, space heaters, candles and wax warmers, humidifiers and diffusers, ice makers and portable stoves are all banned, and bikes and scooters, batteries included, have to live in designated storage rather than your room.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and central: the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union, the University Library, the Aztec Recreation Center, anywhere along Centennial Walkway, or at Plaza del Sol, the new dining and community center. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
