College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Every account is verified with a @mail.rmu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Colonials — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

RMU's residential campus runs thirteen buildings deep. The traditional halls — Adams Hall, Gallatin Hall, Hamilton Hall, Hancock Hall, Madison Hall, Marshall Hall, Monroe Hall and Ross Hall — offer private, double, and triple rooms on floors with shared bathrooms, laundry, and a lounge. Washington Hall is upperclass suite housing, with six- and ten-person suites built around an unfurnished common room. Yorktown Hall sits a short shuttle ride from the academic core and houses more than 500 first-year and upper-class students in singles, doubles, and conjoined doubles with private bathrooms, plus a café, gym, and community kitchen downstairs. Juniors and seniors who want a real kitchen head for the apartments — Concord Hall, Lexington Hall, and Salem Hall — where four or five private bedrooms share two bathrooms and a full unit kitchen. Whichever building you land in, everything you need is already on campus. RMU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

What's already in the room decides what's worth buying secondhand. Every resident gets a bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, and closet space or a wardrobe, and that furniture has to stay in the assigned room all year. Beds are twin XL in the traditional halls, Washington, and the apartments; Yorktown is the outlier with double-size beds, so check your building before you buy sheets. Central air and heating are standard in every hall, and laundry is free and open 24 hours, so skip the window unit and the roll of quarters. Only RMU-issued loft kits are permitted — personal lofts, bed risers, and cinder blocks are not. Personal refrigerators are capped at four cubic feet including the freezer, microwaves at a 700-watt FCC rating, and air fryers, hot plates, griddles, and George Foreman grills are banned outright. The apartments already include a full-size refrigerator and microwave, so it's hall residents doing the appliance shopping.

Meet somewhere busy and central. The Edward A. Nicholson Center, the PNC Food Court, the Patrick Henry Center, the Jefferson Center, the UPMC Events Center, and the Gazebo on Massey Way are all short walks from the halls: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
