College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Every account is verified with a @rider.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Broncs — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Rider requires students to live on campus for their first two years, which means most Broncs go through at least two rounds of moving in. New students land in the traditional-style halls — Conover Hall, Hill Hall, Olson Hall, Gee Hall, Wright Hall, and Poyda Hall all house doubles and pods. Several halls are built around living-learning communities: Kroner Hall for Westminster Choir College students, with individual sound rehearsal booths, Switlik Hall for psychology, Ziegler Hall for business and honors, Lake House for fine arts, and Longstreet House for communication and journalism. Upperclass students move into suites in Lincoln Hall, the suite and apartment mix in Hank and Bonnie Moore Hall, or the LEED-certified apartments and premium doubles at Steven R. Beckett '74 and Sharon McDonald-Beckett Village. With that much turnover, everything you need is already on campus. Rider students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Check the details before you buy. Every room comes with a bed frame and mattress, a desk and chair, a dresser, a closet or wardrobe, and window treatments, and the campus default is a standard twin at 75" x 39", not the extra-long twin most stores sell — extra-long is available only by request and has to be approved by August 1, so read the listing before you grab a sheet set. Lofting is out: items for lofting or raising beds are banned outright, which makes storage bins, drawer carts, and low-profile organizers the real currency. Some rooms are air conditioned and are billed at a higher "with Air" rate, but personal AC units are prohibited unless you have an approved housing accommodation, so a good fan is a smart buy. Skip anything with an open heating element too — toasters, hot plates, convection ovens, and air fryers are prohibited, as are residential extension cords, multi-plug adapters, adhesive wall strips, and halogen lamps.
Meet somewhere busy and well lit. The Bart Luedeke Center, the Franklin F. Moore Library, Daly Dining Hall, the Student Recreation Center, and the Rider University Bookstore all work. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

Is it free to buy and sell at Rider?
Yes. Buying, selling, and messaging are completely free. The only optional cost is a featured listing boost, which puts your item at the top of the Rider feed for $2.99 for 7 days.
How do I pay the other student?
You arrange payment directly with each other — cash, Venmo, Zelle, whatever you both agree on. No money runs through the app, and there are no transaction fees.
Where should I meet to buy or sell on Rider's campus?
Stick to busy, well-lit public spots — the student union, the main library, the rec center, and the dining halls are all easy meeting points between classes. Agree on a specific building before you head over, and meet during daylight hours.
