First-year students at Oregon live in the residence halls, so nearly every incoming class furnishes a room from scratch in September. Whether you're in Carson, Earl, Global Scholars, Justice Bean, Kalapuya Ilihi, the Living Learning Center, New Residence Hall, Unthank, or Yasui, everything you need is already on campus. Oregon students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every term — usually for a fraction of retail. Students living off campus around Eugene use it too. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
Meeting up on campus
Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. The Erb Memorial Union, the Knight Library, and the Student Recreation Center are all easy meeting points between classes, and Oregon's campus is compact enough that most handoffs take five minutes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no driving across Eugene to meet someone off Craigslist.

Course materials run into the hundreds of dollars a term, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. The terms that matter most
Oregon runs on quarters. Fall move-in happens in late September before classes begin, and the halls close for fall term in December — which means a real clearing-out at the end of each term on top of the big June move-out.
