Buying & selling at Oral Roberts

Campus details for Oral Roberts students.

College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Every account is verified with an @oru.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Golden Eagles, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Most first-year students land in one of the two big seven-floor halls at the heart of campus: Claudius Priscilla Roberts Hall for women and Ellis Melvin Roberts Hall for men, both renovated ahead of the Fall 2026 semester with new flooring, lighting, restrooms, and furniture. Upperclassmen spread out across the Quad Towers, meaning Susie Vinson Hall, Susie North, Frances Cardone Hall, and Michael Cardone, Sr., Hall, plus the three-story Gabrielle Christian Salem Hall and the apartment-style and dorm-style options in Niko Njotorahardjo Hall. With that much shuffling between towers every August and May, everything you need is already on campus. ORU students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, fans, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Every room arrives furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, chest of drawers, closet or wardrobe space, and one combination MicroFridge unit that roommates share. ORU supplies the refrigeration and bans personal refrigerators outright, so that is the one thing not to buy secondhand here. Mattresses are extra-long twins at 80 inches, which makes twin XL sheets and mattress covers the most reliably traded items on the app. Beds cannot be taken apart or stacked into homemade lofts, only the university's own bunk beds are allowed, and Residential Services runs a bunking and unbunking window in late August. Command adhesive strips and magnets are the only approved way to hang anything; tape, foam hooks, nails, and wall anchors are all prohibited, along with air fryers, toasters, electric grills, crock pots, halogen lamps, and space heaters. Hot pots without exposed coils, coffee makers with automatic shut-off, air poppers, and oscillating fans are approved. Residents of Claudius and EMR keep their windows closed year-round because of the ventilation system, and housing tells them to bring a fan, which is why fans move fast here in August.

Meeting up is easy when you already cross the same campus every day. Trade at the Armand Hammer Alumni-Student Center, outside the J.D. McKean Library, at the base of the Prayer Tower, by the Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center, or near Daystar Dining Hall and the Mabee Center. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
