Buying & selling at University of Oklahoma
Campus details for University of Oklahoma students.
College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Every account is verified with a @ou.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Sooners — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Where Sooners buy and sell
Whether you're in Couch Center, David L. Boren Hall, or Headington Hall, in the residential colleges at Dunham or Headington, out at Cross Village, or in the Traditions Square apartments, everything you need is already on campus. OU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Students living off campus around Campus Corner and Lindsey Street use it too. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
A year of change on campus
OU is in the middle of replacing its older residence halls. Walker Center is scheduled for demolition in summer 2026, which reduces total bed capacity for 2026–27 and means housing is being prioritized for incoming first-year students — with Traditions Square also serving first-years this year. Practically, that means a lot of furniture leaving campus in one summer and a lot of first-years furnishing rooms from scratch in August. Worth watching the feed early either way.
Meeting up on campus
Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. The Oklahoma Memorial Union, Bizzell Memorial Library, the Sarkeys Fitness Center, and Cross Village are all easy meeting points between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no driving across Norman to meet someone off Craigslist.
Textbooks without the bookstore markup
Course materials for engineering, business, and the sciences run into the hundreds of dollars a semester, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. Buying from the Sooner who took the class last term beats the bookstore buyback spread on both ends — the seller gets more than the buyback price, and the buyer pays less than retail.
