Notre Dame's hall system means most of your life happens within a few hundred yards — so a handoff is usually just "I'll be outside LaFortune at 2." Across all 27 residence halls — from Alumni, Dillon, Keenan, Stanford, Siegfried, Knott, Morrissey and Sorin to Badin, Howard, Lyons, Walsh, Breen-Phillips, Farley, Duncan, Ryan, Welsh Family, O'Neill Family, McGlinn, Pasquerilla East, Pasquerilla West, Carroll, Fisher, Lewis, St. Edward's, Cavanaugh and Keough — everything you need is already on campus. Notre Dame students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Meet in the open and it takes five minutes: the LaFortune Student Center, the lobby of Hesburgh Library, South Dining Hall, or DeBartolo Hall between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Know the specs before you buy. Mattresses are XL twin, 36 by 80 inches, and students over 6 feet 7 inches may request an XXL frame and mattress. A refrigerator is allowed up to 5.0 cubic feet, but microwaves are not permitted in student rooms — they sit on du Lac's prohibited high-wattage list alongside hot plates, toasters, grills, rice cookers, air conditioners and ceiling fans — so use the microwaves the University provides in hall kitchens. Candles, incense, open flames, halogen lamps with bulbs over 300 watts, hoverboards and e-scooters are also out. Unmarried first-year students must live in a residence hall, under Notre Dame's six-semester residency requirement.

Each campus is its own marketplace. You'll only see listings from people who verified with a Notre Dame email address, and they'll only see yours.
Does it cost anything?
No. Listing and browsing are free, and we don't take a cut — you handle payment directly with the other student, however you both prefer.
Where should I meet to hand something off?
Somewhere public and central. LaFortune Student Center and Hesburgh Library are the easiest — busy, well-lit, and everyone knows where they are.
What if nobody's selling what I need?
Post it on the Looking For board. Other Notre Dame students can see what's in demand, and you'll get notified when someone lists a match.
