College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Every account is verified with a @northeastern.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Huskies — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

First-year Huskies start out in the traditional corridor-style buildings — Speare Hall, Smith Hall, Melvin Hall, Light Hall, Kerr Hall, Stetson Hall East and Stetson Hall West — or in suite-style Kennedy Hall and 153 Hemenway Street. International Village, East Village and Hastings Hall mix first-years with returning students. After that, most people move into apartment-style housing: West Village A, West Village B, West Village C, West Village E, West Village F, West Village G and West Village H, plus Burstein Hall, Willis Hall, Loftman Hall, Rubenstein Hall, Davenport Commons A & B, 60 Belvidere Street, 144 Hemenway St, 768 Columbus, 780 Columbus, 10 Coventry, the St. Stephen Street houses at 106, 110, 116 and 122, and the Huntington Ave buildings at 319, 337 and 407. Boston admits must live in university housing for two years, co-op terms included, so people shuffle between buildings constantly and everything you need is already on campus. Northeastern students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come with a bed, dresser, desk, chair and window shades; some have a wardrobe instead of an inset closet, and some shared doubles have only one closet, so storage is what everyone ends up buying. Beds take Twin XL sheets. Lofts may not be built, and cinder blocks and bed risers are banned outright — to raise a bed you file a facilities work request. Student-owned air conditioners of any type are prohibited, window, portable or vented floor, though buildings such as East Village run central air. In rooms without a kitchen, mini fridges are capped at 3.5 cubic feet and personal microwaves are not permitted; microfridges and single-serve coffee makers are the workaround, and apartment residents can keep microwaves and toaster ovens. Outside furniture other than a desk chair is out too, which is why compact, room-legal gear moves fast secondhand.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy. The Curry Student Center is the obvious pick, and Snell Library, the Marino Recreation Center, the Cabot Center and the lawns of Centennial Common all work in daylight with people around. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

Fall move-out is December 19, 2026 (December 23 for co-op students) and spring move-out is May 1, 2027 — those weeks are when listings pile up fastest.
