College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Every account is verified with a @aggies.ncat.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Aggies — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Most first-year Aggies land in the traditional halls on South and North Campus: Barbee Hall, Curtis Hall, Holland Hall, Speight Hall, Morrow Hall, Vanstory Hall, Cooper Hall and Haley Hall. Upperclass and transfer students tend to move into the suite-style communities — Pride Hall, Aggie Suites E & F and Aggie Village — and Bluford Hall, a new suite-style residence hall, comes online for fall 2026. Housing is in heavy demand here and the application closes May 1, so rooms fill fast and so do the group chats hunting for furniture. Skip the retail run: everything you need is already on campus. NC A&T students post futons, desk lamps, fans, storage bins, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come furnished, which changes what's worth buying. You get a twin extra-long bed (a 36x80 mattress), a desk and chair, dresser space — two two-drawer dressers or one three-drawer, depending on the hall — closet, wardrobe or cubby storage, and cable and Wi-Fi. Buy twin XL bedding, not standard twin, or nothing will fit. Check the prohibited list before you pay for anything big secondhand: personal microwaves, mini fridges, toasters, air fryers, hot plates, space heaters, extension cords, LED lights, candles and incense, hoverboards and lofts are all banned in the halls, and window A/C units, humidifiers and dehumidifiers require a doctor's statement. A meal plan is required for everyone living on campus. What actually moves on the marketplace, then, is bedding and mattress pads, surge protectors, fans, laundry baskets, carts and dollies for move-in day, storage bins, and desk setups.
When it's time to hand something off, stay central and stay busy. Meet at the Student Center — the Stu — or at F.D. Bluford Library, the Campus Recreation Center, or outside Corbett Sports Center and Truist Stadium on a game day. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
