College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. Every account is verified with a @spartans.nsu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Spartans, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
NSU's Office of Housing and Residence Life runs out of the Residential Complex at 700 Park Avenue, and most of the buying and selling on campus happens between the same handful of buildings. The university's own 2026-27 room charge schedule bills residents of Babbette B. Smith North Hall and Babbette B. Smith South Hall — the Twin Towers — plus Rosa A. Alexander Hall and Samuel Scott Hall, Charles H. Smith Hall and Lee W. Smith Hall, the Midrise Residence Hall, and Village at Park Place. Spartan Suites is the apartment-style community and is priced separately in one, two, and four bedroom layouts with a board rate built in. Between the suites and the traditional halls, everything you need is already on campus. Norfolk State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
NSU's own floor plans show what is already waiting in the room: a bed, a desk, a dresser, and a wardrobe rather than a walk-in closet, which is why hanging organizers, drawer bins, and under-bed storage move fast here. Layouts vary a lot by building. Rosa A. Alexander, Samuel Scott, and the Midrise are drawn as double and triple bed suites with a bath attached, Lee W. Smith runs small, medium, and large double rooms alongside triple suites, and Babbette B. Smith North and South add an overflow triple configuration. Rooms are billed by type — double, room triple, or suite single — and a $200 room deposit is part of the $400 in deposits a new on-campus student owes, so budget for furniture around that.
When it is time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and public. The NSU Student Center and the Student Services Center sit in the heart of campus and are the easiest places to trade between classes, and the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library, Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall, and William Dick Price Stadium all work well during the day. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
