College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Every account is verified with a @unm.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Lobos — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
UNM is holding its traditional halls — Alvarado Hall, Coronado Hall, Hokona Hall and Santa Clara Hall — for incoming first-year students in 2026-27, while suite-style Laguna DeVargas Hall and the apartment communities go to sophomores and up: SRC Apartments, Redondo Village Apartments and the downtown Lobo Rainforest. American Campus Communities operates two more options the university lists as campus housing, Casas del Rio on main campus and Lobo Village on south campus. Wherever you land, everything you need is already on campus. UNM students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms in the traditional and suite halls arrive furnished with a desk and chair, a dresser or built-in bureau drawers, built-in shelving and closet space, plus Wi-Fi and Xfinity access. Beds are extra-long twins, so buy twin XL sheets; the one exception is a single at Laguna DeVargas, which takes full-size bedding. SRC and Redondo Village add a full kitchen, dining furniture and living room seating, which is why apartment residents are the ones unloading cookware and couches every May. Housing permits only one mini fridge or MicroFridge per bedspace to keep from overloading circuits, so roommates usually split a single unit — exactly the kind of thing worth buying used and reselling later.
Meet up somewhere busy and public. The Student Union Building is the easy pick between classes, and Zimmerman Library, the Centennial Science & Engineering Library, the Johnson Center and the UNM Bookstore all work just as well. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Move-in is staggered by building: Hokona and Coronado on Aug. 13, Santa Clara, Alvarado and Laguna DeVargas on Aug. 14, and the apartments on Aug. 15. Those days, and the end-of-semester move-out rush, are when listings turn over fastest.
