College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Every account is verified with a @usna.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Midshipmen — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Housing at Navy works unlike anywhere else. There is no lottery and no list of halls to pick between: the entire Brigade of Midshipmen lives in Bancroft Hall, the building mids call "Mother B." With 1,639 rooms and 4,663 beds arranged around a center rotunda and eight wings, the Academy bills it as the largest single college dormitory in the world. You're assigned to a company of roughly 150 midshipmen and you live, eat, study and drill alongside them for four years. That one-building reality shapes the marketplace here — everything you need is already inside the Yard, and it tends to change hands between mids rather than get hauled in from a storage unit. Navy students post desk lamps, monitors, bikes, spirit gear, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

What you can actually keep in a room is tightly regulated, which is exactly why buying and selling looks different here. The Academy issues the mattress and the desk chair, and midshipmen are held accountable for both. Cooking is limited: outside of a microwave or coffee maker, unauthorized cooking equipment gets confiscated on sight by the fire department or facilities staff. A personal refrigerator isn't a plebe-year purchase either — under the Commandant's regulations a compact fridge is a First Class privilege, within set size limits, and personal furniture like a bookcase or stereo stand is capped by dimension too. Plebe Summer strips things back further still, seven weeks with no television and no leisure time. In practice that means the strongest listings at Navy are small, compliant and resellable: the fridge coming down from a graduating firstie, the bookcase that already fits the rule, next semester's textbooks.

Meeting up is easy when the whole campus is one walkable Yard. Tecumseh Court just outside Bancroft, King Hall, Nimitz Library, Dahlgren Hall, Alumni Hall and Halsey Field House are all public, busy, and only a few minutes apart — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
