College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Every account is verified with a @murraystate.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Racers — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Housing here runs on the residential college system, and every Racer who lives on campus joins one. Hart Hall, Elizabeth Hall, Hester Hall and RH White Hall anchor the Residential College Circle, alongside the suite-capable Lee Clark Hall, JH Richmond Hall and HC Franklin Hall. Regents Hall is reserved for returning students only. Upper-division, graduate, married and non-traditional students can move into apartment-style living at College Courts or Station 74, both of which come with a kitchen and furniture already in place. Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus, and students on the regional tuition rate from Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas or Tennessee owe four full semesters in university housing, so everything you need is already on campus. Murray State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Check the rules before you buy anything. Rooms come furnished with beds, desks, closets and drawer space, and residents can add furniture but can't remove what's already there. Every hall uses 80-inch mattresses, which makes standard twin sheets the most common wasted purchase at move-in. Housing caps refrigerators at 4.6 cubic feet and allows one per room, microwaves at 700 watts and also one per room; Keurig coffee makers are permitted, while hot plates and anything with an exposed heating element are not. Bedloft is the only approved loft program on campus, so beds get lofted through that rental rather than through a kit bought secondhand. Air conditioning is worth asking about too: most halls run a two-pipe system where the whole building is switched to heat or to A/C at once, while Lee Clark, HC Franklin and JH Richmond give you room-level control of both.

When it's time to hand something off, the Curris Center is the obvious spot, with the bookstore, the information booth and most of campus passing through. Waterfield Library is quiet and easy to find, Winslow Dining Hall sits right by the Residential College Circle, and the Susan E. Bauernfeind Recreation and Wellness Center works if you're already headed to the gym. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
