College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Every account is verified with a @live.missouristate.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Bears — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Missouri State keeps students in nine residence halls and two apartment buildings, and the 2026-27 housing rates cover all of them. The room- and suite-style communities are Blair-Shannon House, Freudenberger House (the one everybody just calls Freddy), Hammons House, Heitz House, Hutchens House, Scholars House, Wells House and Woods House. Kentwood Hall is reserved for upperclass, transfer and graduate students, and the apartments — Monroe Apartments and Sunvilla Tower — require two semesters of on-campus living, 30 transferable credit hours, or that you be at least 20 years old. Across all eleven buildings, everything you need is already on campus. Missouri State students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, fans, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

The housing rules shape what's worth buying. Beds are 80-inch extra-long twins, so twin XL sheets are the only ones that fit; Monroe and Sunvilla units come with XL full or XL twin beds instead. Lofts are not permitted — beds may be bunked in pairs only, and bunked beds have to sit at least three feet from any window. Store-bought risers are allowed in limited situations, but cinder-block and homemade risers are banned outright, and risers can't be paired with bunked or loft-style beds. Kentwood and Woods already have adjustable-height loft-style frames built in. Rooms come furnished with a bed, desk and chair, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Personal refrigerators, microwaves and air conditioners are prohibited in hall rooms: microwaves live in each building's community kitchen, and the fall move-in guide allows only a cosmetic fridge of 0.15 cubic feet or smaller.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere public and busy. The Plaster Student Union, Meyer Library, the Foster Recreation Center, Hammons Student Center and Great Southern Bank Arena are all easy to find, well lit and full of people between classes — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

Fall check-in runs across August 13-16, 2026, and that opening stretch is the busiest the marketplace gets, so post early if you're selling.
