College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Marist University in Poughkeepsie, New York. Every account is verified with a @marist.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Red Foxes — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

First-years land in the traditional corridor halls — Champagnat Hall, Leo Hall, Sheahan Hall, and the triples and quads of Marian Hall — or in suite-style Midrise Hall, which also takes sophomores and transfers. Sophomore year moves most students into the townhouses: Foy Townhouses (A-C), New Townhouses (H-M), Lower West Cedar Street Townhouses (N-S), and Upper West Cedar Street Townhouses (T-Y). Juniors and seniors spread across Upper Fulton Townhouses, Lower Fulton Townhouses, and the North Campus apartments — Lavelle Hall, John and Nancy O'Shea Hall, McCormick Hall, and Tom & Mary Ward Hall. With that much churn between corridor room, townhouse, and apartment from one year to the next, everything you need is already on campus. Marist students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Every room comes with a bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, and closet for each student it was designed to house, and the mattresses measure roughly 36" x 80" — Twin XL sheets, not standard twin. Beds adjust up to 36 inches high, but bed risers are prohibited, so plan your under-bed storage around the frame itself. Each room may have one refrigerator up to 3.6 cubic feet, and first-year halls allow one microwave at 700 watts max; the townhouses and North Campus apartments arrive completely furnished, curtains included, with two full-size University-supplied refrigerators in most units. Air conditioning is standard in the West Cedar and Fulton townhouses and in Lavelle, O'Shea, McCormick, and Ward, while the older first-year halls don't advertise it — and personal air conditioners are banned outright, along with halogen lamps, hot plates, broiler ovens, fry pans, space heaters, toasters, and extension cords.

Meet somewhere busy and public: the rotunda inside the Murray Student Center, the James A. Cannavino Library, the James J. McCann Recreation Center, the Campus Green overlooking the Hudson, or outside Tenney Stadium. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
