College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Manhattan University in Riverdale, New York. Every account is verified with a @manhattan.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Jaspers — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Almost every first-year Jasper starts in Lee Hall, the ten-floor tower that houses roughly 550 students in suite-style rooms, and full-time undergraduates are required to live on campus for their first two years. Continuing and transfer students move next door into Horan Hall, which holds about 400 residents in suites with freshly updated bathrooms and also contains the campus apartments — full kitchen, living room, fully furnished — set aside for juniors and seniors. Chrysostom Hall is the quiet one: four floors, roughly 60 continuing students, every room a single, with central air conditioning and a basement laundry room after its 2022 renovation. Jasper Hall holds about 120 residents over five floors — graduate students, veteran students and upperclass undergraduates in single-style rooms, each with its own air conditioning unit — and it is the only building with a 12-month, August-to-August contract. Housing is billed by room type rather than by building, and the jump from a shared suite to a single or an apartment is exactly when students start hunting for a desk chair, a rug or a second monitor.

Every resident gets an extra-long twin bed, a desk, a chair, and a wardrobe or closet, plus a six-drawer dresser shared with roommates, so buy Twin XL sheets and skip the standard twin set. Rooms come wired with DirecTV cable, wireless internet and one ethernet jack per person, and laundry is free in every hall. Refrigerators are capped at 6.1 cubic feet and microwaves at 700 watts (1.7 to 2.4 cubic feet), with MicroFridge rentals available if you'd rather not buy one outright. Leave the space heaters, electric blankets, hot plates, halogen lamps, candles and personal wireless routers at home — all prohibited — and note that nails and screws for wall hangings are banned too, so plan on adhesive hooks. Fish are the only pets allowed, in tanks of 20 gallons or less.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy: the Raymond W. Kelly Student Commons, O'Malley Library, Locke's Loft Dining Hall, Draddy Gymnasium before a game, or out on The Quad. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
