College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Every account is verified with a @mail.lipscomb.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Bisons — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Lipscomb keeps freshmen, sophomores and juniors on campus unless they're living with family or a spouse in Nashville, which means almost everyone you'd trade with is a short walk away. Freshman women fill Elam Hall, while the men start out in High Rise Hall, the eight-story building next to Allen Arena, or in Sewell Hall. Fanning Hall houses women in eight-person suites near the center of campus. Upperclass students move into the hotel-style rooms in Bison Hall, the traditional and suite sides of Johnson Hall, or The Village, the apartment community open to students with at least 60 credit hours and a 2.75 GPA. With that many Bisons packed into seven buildings, everything you need is already on campus. Lipscomb students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished: two beds, two desks with chairs, two chests of drawers, and closet or wardrobe storage. Most halls use Twin XL mattresses on frames measuring 86" long by 38.5" wide, and the beds adjust in height for up to three feet of under-bed storage, so risers usually aren't the answer — bins that clear that gap are. Loft kits are available through Residence Life in High Rise and on Johnson's traditional side. Check your building before you buy bedding, though: the newer Johnson beds take regular twin sheets rather than XL, and Sewell's frames are listed at 79" by 40". Village apartments come with a refrigerator, stove and living room furniture, while everyone else is shopping for a compact fridge, and residents of The Village, Bison Hall and the Johnson suites clean their own bathrooms.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere public and busy. Beaman Library, the Bennett Campus Center, the Bison Café, the Student Activities Center, and Allen Arena are all easy to find and full of people most of the day. Five minutes, done: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

Fall 2026 move-in runs August 10 and 11 for new students and August 15 for returning students, and those days — plus the last week of the spring semester — are when listings move fastest.
