College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Every account is verified with a @liberty.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Flames — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Liberty requires all unmarried undergraduates under 21 to live on campus, so nearly the entire residential student body cycles through university housing and the same furniture, fridges and storage bins change hands every August and May. The inventory runs from the four high-rise dorms of Residential Commons 1, Residential Commons 2, Residential Commons 3 and Residential Commons 4 to the traditional halls on The Hill and in The Circle, plus the all-female South Tower. Apartment-style living means East Campus, popular with athletes and groups of friends, or The Quads, where five bedrooms share a full kitchen and a living area. North Suites on North Campus is the newest option, and the Residential Annex, a five-minute drive out, is open to returning students only. Wherever you land, everything you need is already on campus. Liberty students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Every student gets a bed, a dresser, a desk and a chair, and Res Life lists the standard mattress as a Twin XL measuring 36 by 80 inches, so bedding is the first thing most people go shopping for. All residence halls are air-conditioned on a centrally managed system held between 68 and 76 degrees, and personal air conditioners and space heaters are both prohibited. Three-person rooms already come with one bunk set and one lofted bed; two-person rooms can request a loft kit for a $75 fee, and elevated beds must use the university's own furniture pins and safety rail rather than store-bought parts. Commons rooms include a built-in micro-fridge unit and can't take a second appliance, while everywhere else you may bring your own UL-approved fridge under 4 cubic feet and a microwave up to 1,000 watts. Toasters, air fryers, hot plates and grills are only permitted in the kitchens at East Campus and The Quads — worth knowing before you buy one secondhand.

Trade somewhere central and busy. The Jerry Falwell Library, Montview Student Union, the LaHaye Recreation & Fitness Center, Reber-Thomas Dining Center, DeMoss Hall and the Vines Center all sit in daily foot traffic and make for easy handoffs between classes — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
