College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Every account is verified with a @lehigh.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Mountain Hawks — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Lehigh requires all first- and second-year students to live in University Housing each semester, which means most of the people you're buying from are already a short walk up the hill. First-years fill Centennial I Complex, Centennial II Complex, Dravo House, Drinker House, McClintic-Marshall House, Richards House and Taylor House. Second-years and upperclass students spread out into suite-style Brodhead House and Singleton, Hitch & Maida Houses, the apartments at Farrington Square, Sayre Park Village and Trembley Park, and the shared houses — Umoja House, the Warren Square Complex, and House 084, House 085, House 087, House 088, House 089, House 090, House 093 and House 097. Everything you need is already on campus. Lehigh students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Every bedroom already comes with a bed, a desk and chair, dresser drawers and either a built-in closet or a movable wardrobe, so what actually changes hands here is everything else. Buy twin XL sheets: mattresses run 36" x 80" across most of campus, with McClintic-Marshall and a handful of Dravo beds on a shorter 36" x 75" twin that extra-long sheets still cover. University beds can be bunked with University-issued bunking pins and bed rails, and otherwise may only be raised on bed risers — one set per bed, never with bunking — and Housing doesn't supply the risers, which is why used sets move fast in August. Don't buy a window AC unit: every air conditioner on campus is owned and installed by Lehigh. Personal refrigerators are capped at 4.6 cubic feet, microwaves are banned outright under fire safety rules (a rented MicroFridge through Campus Specialties is the sanctioned workaround), and halogen lamps, candles, incense, drip coffee makers and cooking appliances are all prohibited.

When it's time to meet, stay in the busy, well-lit middle of campus: the Clayton University Center at Packer Hall, Linderman Library, the E.W. Fairchild-Martindale Library, Lamberton Hall, Rathbone Dining Hall or Taylor Gym. All of them sit on the walking routes between the residence halls, and a handoff takes five minutes — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
