College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Every account is verified with a @kent.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Golden Flashes — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Kent State's halls run in complexes, all billed in the same 2026-27 rate table. Eastway covers Allyn Hall, Clark Hall, Fletcher Hall and Manchester Hall; the Quad holds Lake Hall, Olson Hall, Stopher Hall and Johnson Hall; New Front takes in Dunbar Hall, Prentice Hall and Verder Hall; Twin Towers is Beall Hall and McDowell Hall; Tri-Towers gathers Koonce Hall, Korb Hall, Leebrick Hall and Wright Hall. Upper-class residents spread across Centennial Court A through Centennial Court F, plus the apartment-style Engleman Hall, open to students with 30 or more credits. There's a real live-on rule too — nine or more credit hours at the Kent campus means university housing until you clear 60 attempted credits, turn 20, or get approved to commute — so everything you need is already on campus. Kent State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Buy twin XL sheets and stop there: mattresses in the halls are extra-long twins, 36 by 80 inches. Rooms come with a bed, desk and dresser per student, and housing supplies a fridge/freezer/microwave combo in every hall, so you're capped at one mini fridge and one microwave. Provided furniture has to stay in the room, so storage bins and shelving move quickly here. Most halls have loftable furniture; Allyn, Clark, Fletcher and Manchester have metal beds that junior-loft without stacking other furniture underneath, the wooden beds elsewhere can't be half-lofted, and bunking pins come from the area desk. Air conditioning depends on the building — Allyn and Leebrick are air-conditioned and every room in Verder has a window unit — and students can't bring their own window AC, so fans sell fast. Space heaters, toaster ovens, indoor grills, halogen and torchiere lamps, and candles are all prohibited.

When it's time to hand something off, stay where the foot traffic is. The Kent Student Center and the University Library sit right on Risman Plaza, about as central as campus gets. The Student Recreation and Wellness Center and Eastway Center work if you're both on that side of campus. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
