College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Every account is verified with a @stu.jsu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Gamecocks — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
First-year undergraduates are required to live on campus, so most Gamecocks start out in Crow Hall, Curtiss Hall, Dixon Hall, Fitzpatrick Hall, or the suite-style North Village. Returning students spread out across Daugette Hall, Logan Hall, Meehan Hall, and Patterson Hall, or move into apartment-style living at Colonial Arms Apartments, Pannell Hall Apartments, West Village I, and West Village II, with the International House rounding out the on-campus options. Between Trustee Circle, the north side, and the Stadium District, everything you need is already on campus. Jax State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Bedding is the one thing to confirm before you buy. Crow, Curtiss, Dixon, Fitzpatrick, North Village, Pannell, and the Meehan pod rooms use 80-inch Twin XL mattresses, while Daugette, Logan, Patterson, West Village, and Meehan's concourse and efficiency units come with Full XL beds. Every hall is fully air-conditioned and window A/C units are not allowed. Rooms already include a desk, chair, and wardrobe closet or dresser, which is why storage, seating, and lighting are the smart secondhand buys. Bed risers are prohibited, though the frames adjust upward if you want room underneath. Refrigerators cap out at 4.6 cubic feet (North Village suites may have two), microwaves at 1,000 watts with a 700-watt limit in North Village, and Meehan already supplies a fridge. Air fryers, toaster ovens, halogen lamps, space heaters, and LED strip lights are all banned, so leave those off your shopping list.
When it is time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and well lit. The Theron Montgomery Building is the obvious first choice, and Houston Cole Library, Jack Hopper Dining Hall, Stephenson Hall, and Trustee Circle all work just as well between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
