College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Iona University in New Rochelle, New York. Every account is verified with a @gaels.iona.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Gaels — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

First-year Gaels land in East Hall, where every room is a triple or a quad, or in Loftus Hall, the ten-floor building in the residential courtyard where each suite pairs a double with a triple. Sophomores and juniors gravitate toward suite-style Conese Hall and Hales Hall, both built around six-, eight- and nine-person suites with their own kitchenettes, while North Ave Residence Hall houses upperclass students in four-person suites and Rice Hall mixes singles, doubles, triples and quads across all class years. Over on the Bronxville campus, Bohm Hall is a three-story traditional hall of doubles and a handful of triples for students taking most of their classes there. Iona expects first-, second- and third-year students to live on campus unless they are commuting from a home within 25 miles of campus, so demand for room gear stays steady and everything you need is already on campus. Iona students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished with a Twin XL bed, a desk and chair, a dresser and closet space, so buy Twin XL sheets and skip the standard twin set. The university's move-in checklist lists A/C among what is already in the room, and Bohm Hall runs on individual HVAC units. Refrigerators are capped at 2.8 cubic feet (2 amps) for a personal unit, or 5.5 cubic feet (4 amps) total per room if roommates share, and Conese and Hales already have full-size refrigerators in their suite kitchenettes. Microwaves are not permitted in East, Rice, Loftus or Bohm — Loftus keeps microwaves on every floor instead — and air fryers, toasters, hot plates, halogen lamps, extension cords, stick-on LED strip lights, hoverboards, e-bikes, e-scooters and bed tents are all on the prohibited list, so check before you buy someone's whole setup.

Meet somewhere busy and public: the LaPenta Student Union, Ryan Library, Murphy Green in the middle of campus, the Hynes Athletics Center, or the sideline at Mazzella Field. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
