College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Every account is verified with an @iu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Hoosiers — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
With 48,000 students in Bloomington, somebody is always selling exactly what you need — the hard part has always been finding them without wading through Facebook groups full of people who graduated in 2019. Whether you're in Wright Quad, Briscoe Quad, Foster Quad, McNutt Quad or Teter Quad, in Read Center, Collins, Eigenmann, Forest Quad or Ashton, or setting up at Union Street Center or Willkie, everything you need is already on campus. IU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
Meet in the open and it takes five minutes: the Indiana Memorial Union, the lobby of Wells Library, the Sample Gates, or Herman B Wells Plaza between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
Know the specs before you buy. Rooms come with a single bed and an extra-long twin mattress, so XL sheets are the only ones that fit. A mini refrigerator/microwave combo is allowed if it pulls less than six amps and is 3.3 cubic feet or less, with the microwave rated at 700 watts or less. Bed risers are prohibited — as are air conditioners, air fryers, full-size refrigerators, grills, halogen lights, hot plates, hoverboards, incense, power tools, stoves, toaster ovens, wallpaper and pets. All first-year students must comply with the residency policy conditions approved by the Board of Trustees.

Is this only for IU students?
Each campus is its own marketplace. You'll only see listings from people who verified with a IU email address, and they'll only see yours.
Does it cost anything?
No. Listing and browsing are free, and we don't take a cut — you handle payment directly with the other student, however you both prefer.
Where should I meet to hand something off?
Somewhere public and central. Indiana Memorial Union and Wells Library are the easiest — busy, well-lit, and everyone knows where they are.
What if nobody's selling what I need?
Post it on the Looking For board. Other IU students can see what's in demand, and you'll get notified when someone lists a match.
