College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. Every account is verified with a @isu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Bengals — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
ISU's traditional halls cluster in the South Complex, where Dyer Hall, Nichols Hall, Owen Hall, and Redfield Hall sit within a short walk of one another. Turner Hall and Schubert Heights round out the single-student halls, with Schubert billing studios alongside standard doubles, and suite-style rooms in Rendezvous Hall share a building with academic classrooms in the middle of campus. Students who want a kitchen and more space move out to Ridge Crest Apartments or the 5th Street Apartments, both of which Housing rents by the bedroom with an assigned roommate. Wherever you land, everything you need is already on campus. Idaho State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.
The rooms come furnished, and Housing is blunt about it: leave your bed, mattress, desk, and dresser at home, because all of that is already waiting for you. What you actually shop for are the extras, and the rules there are specific. Refrigerators are capped at 3.6 cubic feet and microwaves at 1,200 watts, which is why secondhand compact units move fast every August. Anything with an open heating element — toasters, toaster ovens, hot plates, electric skillets — is prohibited, as are halogen lamps and ceiling fans. Window air conditioners are allowed in the apartments only, and only with prior approval from a building manager, capped at 12,000 BTU. Aquariums are fine up to 20 gallons; no other pets beyond approved service animals.
For the handoff, stick to places that stay busy. The Pond Student Union is the default, and Eli M. Oboler Library, Reed Gym, the Student Recreation Center, and the lobby of the Rendezvous Complex all work just as well between classes. You are both already on campus — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
