College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Every account is verified with a @vandals.uidaho.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Vandals — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Most first-year Vandals land in Wallace Residence Center, the largest hall on campus, or in Theophilus Tower, the eleven-story building that anchors the skyline. The eight buildings of the Living Learning Communities mix first-year, transfer and returning students around shared academic themes, McConnell Hall is all single rooms for students past their first year, and North Campus Communities offers both singles and doubles. Sophomores and above who want a kitchen move into Vandal Village Apartments, Elmwood Apartments, or the townhouse-style units at South Hill Vista Apartments. Wherever you end up, everything you need is already on campus. Idaho students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, rugs, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Residence hall rooms come furnished with an extra-long twin bed, a closet, a desk and chair, bookshelves and a set of three large drawers, and each room already includes a refrigerator and microwave — which is exactly why you should not buy your own, and why students can't bring them. Bedding is on you: sheets, pillows, blankets and towels aren't provided, and the beds take twin XL sheets rather than standard twin. Laundry and internet are free, so leave the router at home, since personal wired and wireless routers are prohibited. So are space heaters, candles and incense, open-coil appliances like toaster ovens, hot plates and grills, and the lithium-ion batteries in e-bikes and scooters. Pets are limited to fish in a tank of ten gallons or less. The apartments work differently — Vandal Village comes furnished, while Elmwood and South Hill Vista don't include beds, which is why the used furniture listings pile up every August. Air conditioning is being added to Theophilus Tower as part of the phased renovation running through summer 2027, with Wallace work continuing alongside it.

Moscow's campus is compact enough that a handoff takes ten minutes. Meet inside Idaho Commons, on the steps of the University of Idaho Library, outside the Student Recreation Center, at The VandalStore, or near the P1FCU Kibbie Dome on a game weekend — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
