College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Every account is verified with a @uwgb.edu email address, so you're only trading with other Phoenix students — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

UWGB housing is small and close-knit, which makes it easy to sell something without ever leaving campus. First-year students land in one of the eleven residence halls: Roy E. Downham Hall, the largest at 194 residents, plus the ten smaller halls — Josephine Lenfestey Hall, Ted Lenfestey Hall, Donald Long Hall, Bob Schaefer Hall, R.E. Small Hall, James Temp Hall, Cletus Vanderperren Hall, Arlene Walter Hall, Byron Walter Hall and Robert Warren Hall. Students who want a kitchen move into the private-bedroom apartment buildings — Tom Haevers Hall, Donald Harden Hall, Richard Liebl Hall, Keith Pamperin Hall, John Robishaw Hall and Ed Thompson Hall — or into shared-bedroom units in the nine Traditional Apartments buildings and Cort Condon Hall, the newest building on campus, which opened in fall 2024. Green Bay students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

A few housing rules shape what's worth buying secondhand. Every bed on campus is an extra-long twin, so hunt for XL sheets and skip the standard twin sets. Personal lofting equipment and bed risers are prohibited — Housing supplies the only lofts allowed, and you can have your bed raised to a junior loft or bunked with your roommate's instead — so shop for under-bed bins rather than a kit. Refrigerators and microwaves must be Energy Star certified, with fridges capped at four cubic feet. Window AC units are not permitted; central air in the halls only runs after three straight nights above 55 degrees, and the private-bedroom apartments list air conditioning as a standard amenity. Rooms come with a bed, dresser, desk, lamp, chair and closet or wardrobe, and university furniture can't leave the room, so extra shelving or a good desk chair is a smart used buy. Command strips, nails, screws and tacks are all banned on the walls.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy. The University Union is the obvious spot, and the Cofrin Library, Kress Events Center and Leona Cloud Commons all work between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
