College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Every account is verified with a @my.gcu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Lopes — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

GCU's ground campus is built almost entirely out of suite-style halls and apartment communities, and the 2026-27 housing rates cover all of them. First- and second-year students fill the twelve residence halls — Acacia Hall, Camelback Hall, Canyon Hall, Chaparral Hall, Cypress Hall, Ironwood Hall, Juniper Hall, Ocotillo Hall, Prescott Hall, Saguaro Hall, Sedona Hall and Willow Hall — while returning Lopes tend to move into the apartments: Agua Fria, Antelope, Cactus, Copper, Diamondback, Encanto, Gila, Jerome, North Rim, Oak Creek, Palo Verde, Papago, Ponderosa, Roadrunner, Salt River, Santa Cruz, Sonora, Turquoise and Verde River Apartments. GCU encourages first-year students to live on campus rather than requiring it, but with more than thirty buildings inside the same fence line, everything you need is already on campus. Grand Canyon students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms and apartments arrive fully furnished: a bed, desk, chair and dresser per student, plus heating and air conditioning in every hall and apartment (window units of your own are prohibited). Beds take extra-long twin sheets, so pack Twin XL and not standard twin. Worth knowing before you shop: loft kits and bed risers are not allowed, and neither are personal beds or mattresses — you can only raise or lower the mattress on the university-provided frame. Each room is capped at one refrigerator under 4.5 cubic feet and one microwave of 1,000 watts or less, and toaster ovens, air fryers, Instant Pots and anything with an exposed heating element stay home. Hall residents also carry a Canyon 1700 minimum meal plan, which is why so much of the buying and selling here is furniture and electronics rather than kitchen gear.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere public and busy. The Student Union and the length of Lopes Way are the obvious choices during the day, and Global Credit Union Arena, the Canyon Activity Center and the Antelope Reception Center all work well when you need a landmark a stranger can actually find. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
