Buying & selling at Grambling

Campus details for Grambling students.

College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. Every account is verified with a @gsumail.gram.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Tigers — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Most on-campus beds are in the Tiger Village complex. Freshman women are placed in Douglass Hall and Bowen Hall, freshman men in Knott Hall, Wheatley Hall and Pinchback Hall, and Holland Hall is co-ed freshman housing; Attucks Hall is all-male apartment-style freshman housing. Upperclassmen move into Bethune Hall or the apartment-style Jones Hall, Truth Hall, Tubman Hall, Adams Hall and Richmond Hall, with co-ed Steeple's Glen, the GSU West Bungalows for juniors and seniors, and Campus Evolutions rounding out the list. Jewett Hall, Hunter Hall and Robinson Hall are the traditional double and suite-style halls for women, and Garner Hall is the traditional men's hall, priced with them at the standard double rate. New freshmen and transfers classified as freshmen must live on campus, and you can request to move off after earning 60 or more credit hours — so most of your buyers and sellers are a short walk away. Grambling students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Packing rules shape what gets resold here. The 2026-27 Tiger Bulletin allows a refrigerator up to 5 cubic feet drawing under 150 watts, and a microwave under 800 watts and less than one cubic foot — exactly the sizes worth buying secondhand every August. Air conditioning units, space heaters, air fryers, toasters, halogen lamps, ceiling fans, washers and dryers, wireless routers, extension cords, candles and incense are all prohibited, grills aren't allowed in or around the residential buildings, and only tropical fish count as pets. All residence hall furniture must remain in your assigned room, so university beds, desks and dressers are never yours to sell. Bedding runs standard twin: the housing checklist lists mattress cover sizes of 38 by 74 inches for Hunter and Robinson and 36 by 75 inches for Jewett, Tiger Village and Steeple's Glen.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and lit. The Favrot Student Union is the obvious first choice, and the University Library, the Intramural Center, Robinson Stadium and the Assembly Center all work just as well. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

Yes. Buying, selling, and messaging are completely free. The only optional cost is a featured listing boost, which puts your item at the top of the Grambling feed for $2.99 for 7 days.

How do I pay the other student?

You arrange payment directly with each other — cash, Venmo, Zelle, whatever you both agree on. No money runs through the app, and there are no transaction fees.

Where should I meet to buy or sell on Grambling's campus?
