College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Every account is verified with a @georgiasouthern.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Eagles — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Housing on the Statesboro campus is spread across seven communities, and first-year students are required to live on campus (exemptions exist for age, marital status, military service, transfer credit, or living within 50 miles). Most freshmen land in the co-ed suites at Eagle Village or the traditional triples at Watson Hall, while Kennedy Hall, the oldest residence hall on campus, offers suite-style rooms of its own. Returning students spread out into the apartments and suites at Centennial Place, Southern Courtyard, Southern Pines, and Freedom's Landing, where two-, three-, and four-bedroom units turn furnishing a shared living room into a group project. All of that turnover happens twice a year, which means everything you need is already on campus. Georgia Southern students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms arrive further along than you'd expect, so shop accordingly. Beds are 80-inch XL twin size, so buy XL sheets and skip the standard twin set. Watson Hall rooms come with lofted beds that are moveable for a more flexible layout, plus a wardrobe, study table and chair, mobile pedestal, and dresser. A refrigerator is already installed in the unit at Watson Hall and Eagle Village, and Eagle Village suites include a microwave as well — which is why personal mini fridges are only permitted on the Armstrong campus (4.0 cubic feet or less) and why Watson residents are capped at one microwave per unit. Candles and incense, portable heaters, extension cords, LED light strips and rope lighting, neon signs, and personal wireless routers are all prohibited, so don't buy them secondhand either.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy and public: the Russell Union, the steps of Zach S. Henderson Library, outside the Recreation Activity Center (RAC), under the oaks at Sweetheart Circle, or by Lakeside Dining Commons. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
