Where Bulldogs buy and sell
UGA groups its residences into communities. Whether you're in the big first-year halls — Russell, Creswell, Brumby, or Black-Diallo-Miller — up on the Hill in Boggs, Church, Hill, Lipscomb, Mell, Morris, or Oglethorpe House, in the Myers Community at Myers, Rutherford, Soule, or Mary Lyndon, in Reed or Payne, or over in East Campus Village at Busbee, McWhorter, Rooker, or Vandiver, everything you need is already on campus. Georgia students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Students in University Village, Rogers Road, and Brandon Oaks, and those living off campus around downtown Athens and Milledge, use it too. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
Meeting up on campus
Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. The Tate Student Center and Tate Plaza, the Main Library, and the Ramsey Student Center are all easy meeting points between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no driving across Athens to meet someone off Craigslist.
Textbooks without the bookstore markup
Course materials for business, engineering, journalism, and the sciences run into the hundreds of dollars a semester, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. Buying from the Bulldog who took the class last term beats the bookstore buyback spread on both ends — the seller gets more than the buyback price, and the buyer pays less than retail.
The weeks that matter most
Move-in in August and move-out in May are when the marketplace is busiest. Georgia also has a first-year live-on requirement, so a full incoming class furnishes rooms from scratch every August while graduating seniors clear out furniture, fridges, and storage all at once. If you're selling, post before the rush. If you're buying, that's when the good stuff appears and disappears the same day.
