College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Every account is verified with an @fsu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Seminoles — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

FSU doesn't require anyone to live on campus, but most of the first-year class does anyway, and University Housing reserves the bulk of its buildings for them: Azalea Hall, Broward Hall, Bryan Hall, Cawthon Hall, Deviney Hall, Dorman Hall, Jennie Murphree Hall, Landis Hall, Magnolia Hall, Reynolds Hall, Salley Hall, Wildwood Hall, and the apartment-style McCollum Hall. DeGraff Hall, Gilchrist Hall and Ragans Hall are open to students at any year, and returning residents who want a real apartment head for Rogers Hall or Traditions Hall. Whichever building you land in, everything you need is already on campus. Florida State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Read the housing rules before you buy furniture. Every resident gets a bed, desk, desk chair, dresser and closet, and suite-style rooms already come with a small 4.0 cubic foot refrigerator installed, so a second fridge is off the table unless you have medical documentation for it. The apartment-style buildings have full-size kitchen units instead. Microwaves are allowed in rooms at 700 watts or less, and that same 700-watt ceiling applies to any cooking appliance; toasters are kitchens-only. Lofts are banned outright, cinder blocks included, because the beds are already height-adjustable — but bed risers are fine up to six inches off the floor, and beds can be bunked once you get the pins from your facilities supervisor. On sheets: Bryan and Jennie Murphree use 36"x76" mattresses and every other hall uses 36"x80", and extra-long twin sheets fit both, so Twin XL is the safe buy either way.

When it's time to hand something off, pick somewhere public and busy. The FSU Student Union is the obvious one, and Strozier Library, Landis Green, the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center and the Dirac Science Library all work fine between classes. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
