College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. Every account is verified with a @student.fdu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Knights — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

This page covers the Metropolitan Campus. Nearly all new freshmen live in the Linden Halls, eight buildings of three-double suites arranged around a shared common area and bathroom, with International House billed alongside them at the same room rates. Upperclass and graduate students — plus the first-years admitted to the Global Scholars and Honors Scholars programs — land in University Court, ten townhouse-style buildings where some units come with a kitchenette and some don't. Northpointe is the traditional corridor-style option, four co-ed floors of doubles where every bedroom has its own private bathroom. Whichever building you end up in, everything you need is already on campus. FDU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished with a bed, dresser, desk and desk chair, and University Court and Linden rooms add a nightstand. Mattresses are XL twin, 36" by 80", so bring the long sheets; a standard twin set won't reach. Lofting is off the table — the resident manual prohibits lofts and any stacking of furniture, which is why low storage, under-bed bins, and slim shelving are what people actually hunt for here. Personal air conditioners aren't permitted unless Facilities installs them, so fans move fast in September. The appliance rules are specific and worth reading before you buy: refrigerators and Microfridges must stay under 4.4 cubic feet, you're capped at two mini fridges and one microwave (or two Microfridges) per room, and microwaves top out at 800 watts. Hot plates, toasters, space heaters, grills, and extension cords are all prohibited, and coffee is limited to single-serve Keurig-style brewers with automatic shutoff. Every resident student carries a meal plan.

Meet up somewhere busy and well lit. The Greg Olsen Student Union is the obvious choice, and the Metropolitan Campus Library, Dickinson Hall, Becton Hall, and the Fitness Center all work for a quick handoff between classes — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
