College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. Every account is verified with a @elon.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Phoenix students, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Elon doesn't really do standalone dorms: housing is organized into eight residential neighborhoods, and that's how the 2026-27 rates table prices it too. First- and second-year students land in the Historic Neighborhood, East Neighborhood, Global Neighborhood, Colonnades Neighborhood, or the Danieley Flats, while juniors and seniors move on to apartment-style living at The Oaks, Park Place, the Danieley Apartments, Station at Mill Point, or The Crest. The Loy Center Neighborhood and the EcoVillage at Loy Farm round out the map. Elon has a two-year residency requirement, so essentially every underclassman is furnishing a campus room at the same time, and everything you need is already on campus. Elon students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come with beds, desks, and dressers and/or wardrobes, and every building on campus is air conditioned, so skip the window unit (they're banned anyway). Most beds are extra-long twin, so buy Twin XL sheets, with one big exception: single rooms in the Global Neighborhood, East Neighborhood, and Colonnades Neighborhood, plus The Crest, Station at Mill Point, Park Place, and the EcoVillage at Loy Farm, have full beds. Twin XL frames loft to a maximum of 76 inches in three-inch increments using university lofting pieces, and bed rails are free on request; full beds only raise to 36 inches and cannot be lofted at all, so personal loft kits are a bad buy. One personal refrigerator per room, 35 inches max height, kept on the floor rather than stacked on furniture, and none at all in The Crest. Microwaves are only permitted in kitchens in the Danieley Flats and the campus apartments, which is why a shared MicroFridge is the usual answer everywhere else. Air fryers, toaster ovens, deep fryers, space heaters, pressure cookers, and slow cookers are all prohibited.

Meet up somewhere busy and well lit. The Moseley Center front desk, Belk Library, Lakeside Dining Hall, McEwen Dining Hall, Fonville Fountain on Scott Plaza, and Under the Oaks are all easy to find and busy. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
