Where Flyers buy and sell

UD houses nearly all of its undergraduates, and the path through campus housing is unusually structured. First-year students live in the Marycrest or Stuart complexes. Sophomores move into Virginia W. Kettering, Campus South, the Sophomore Garden Apartments, or Sophomore Irving Commons. Juniors and seniors land in Lawnview, Caldwell, Plumwood, or University Place apartments — or one of the porch-clad houses in UD's student neighborhood, which is the part of campus everyone talks about. Founders and Marianist halls round it out. Flyers post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, seating, porch furniture, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Lofting matters more in some buildings than others

Stuart's rooms are noticeably smaller than Marycrest's, and lofting is close to essential there to get usable floor space. Stuart also sits at the top of Stuart Hill — worth thinking about before you agree to carry a futon up it. If you're buying a loft kit or bed risers secondhand, check which complex you're in first.

The neighborhood is the whole thing here

Moving from a residence hall into a UD student neighborhood house changes what you need entirely: porch furniture, a couch, kitchen gear, a table. Almost none of it fits in a first-year room, and almost all of it is being sold every May by the seniors moving out of those same houses. If you're heading into the neighborhood, that's the window.

Meeting up on campus

Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. Kennedy Union sits just outside Founders' north doors and next to the Central Mall, with Roesch Library and the RecPlex close by. That cluster works from almost anywhere on campus — and it saves anyone in Stuart the climb. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no driving across Dayton to meet someone off Craigslist.

The weeks that matter most

All UD undergraduate housing closes during Winter Break and Spring Break, and students must vacate within 24 hours of their last exam each semester. That makes both December and May short, concentrated selling windows. If you're selling, post before finals rather than after.
