College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Every account is verified with a @student.coppin.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Eagles, not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.
Coppin's residential campus is small and easy to navigate, which makes secondhand shopping here genuinely simple. First-year students live in Guilbert A. Daley Residence Hall, the seven-story building on West North Avenue, while returning and upper-class students are assigned to Flossie M. Dedmond Residence Hall as availability allows. Both are suite-style buildings, with three- and four-room clusters sharing a living room and a self-contained bathroom, so a futon or a floor lamp bought from someone two floors up actually gets used by the whole suite. Living on campus means carrying a full course load and a meal plan, and between the two halls everything you need is already within a short walk. Coppin State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.
Rooms come furnished with a desk, chair, dresser, closet, blinds, and a twin bed with mattress, and the suites are carpeted with cable outlets and CSU-Wireless throughout. Both halls have their own unit air conditioning and heat, so personal window units are prohibited and nobody needs to buy one. Each suite already includes a micro-fridge, and you may bring one additional small refrigerator up to 3.6 cubic feet, which is exactly the size range that gets resold every May. Hot plates, stoves, grills, and other kitchen appliances are not allowed, and unauthorized bed lofts are prohibited, so check the current housing rules before you buy risers or a loft kit from anyone. Laundry runs a dollar per wash and a dollar per dry on the Eagle Card.
When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere public and busy. The Talon Center is the natural choice with dining and the Eagle's Nest Market inside, and the Parlett L. Moore Library, the Physical Education Complex, the Tawes Center, and the Science and Technology Center all work just as well during the day. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
