College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio. Every account is verified with a @vikes.csuohio.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Vikings — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

CSU housing is compact and walkable, which is exactly what makes secondhand shopping work here. Fenn Tower reopens in August 2026 after a full renovation and takes in first-year students in traditional doubles and quads. Euclid Commons is apartment-style, with mostly private bedrooms and a limited number of shared ones. The Edge and The Langston round out the list with studios and one- to four-bedroom apartments a few minutes from class. No shuttle ride, no storage unit across town — everything you need is already on campus. Cleveland State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester, usually for a fraction of retail.

Check your bed size before you buy sheets, because CSU is not uniform about it: Fenn Tower and the shared Euclid Commons bedrooms use Twin XL, while private Euclid Commons rooms, The Edge, and The Langston use Full XL. Every resident gets a bed and bedframe, a dresser, closet space, and a desk with chair — except at The Langston, which does not supply a desk or desk chair. You may not bring your own bedframe or mattress, and room furniture can't be removed or swapped between rooms, so the resale market here leans toward things that fit around the furniture you're handed. Refrigerators are capped at 5 amps and three feet tall, microwaves at 900 watts in rooms without a kitchen, and personal air conditioners, hot plates, toasters, air fryers, halogen lamps, and lava lamps are all off the packing list. Laundry is free in every hall, so skip the quarter jar.

When it's time to hand something off, meet somewhere busy. The Student Center on Euclid Avenue is the default — it's where Viking Marketplace, Chick-fil-A, and Starbucks all sit, so there are people around most of the day. The Michael Schwartz Library, the CSU Recreation Center, Viking Outfitters at the bookstore, and the concourse outside the Wolstein Center all work just as well. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
